MICHAEL SANDERS - Director of Film & Screen 

Michael is a graduate of the Applied Business and Entrepreneurship program at Mount Royal University in Calgary. He began his career in graphic design and photography and now his expertise in layout, user-interface and user experience spans web, mobile and interactive. Michael also has 10+ years of experience as a director, cinematographer, and editor of feature films, documentaries, music videos and commercials that includes managing cast and crews of 5 to 45 people. Michael is a member of OnScreen Manitoba and the Documentary Organization of Canada, and a board member of Theatre by the River.

DYLAN FRIES - DIRECTOR OF INTERACTIVE

Dylan is a graduate of the University of Manitoba’s computer science program where he pursued an interest in artificial intelligence. He started his career as a freelance web developer and then moved to St. John’s, NF to work for Best Boy Productions as a programmer. He was soon promoted to management and over two years assembled, trained and led a team of 12 people that completed a mobile game that teaches math to kids. Since returning to Winnipeg, Dylan has worked on original IP and as a technical consultant and project lead.  He is a frequent speaker and panel expert on VR, and is the organizer of the Winnipeg Game Jam and the Winnipeg Game Collective.

JOHN TOONE - DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS

John is a graduate of the Asper School of Business with majors in finance and marketing. He started his career with The North West Company, and over eight years progressed from market research to financial analyst to property manager. He has been self-employed as a business consultant for 10+ years, with expertise in business valuations and acquisitions, commercial leasing, and start-ups. John earned a degree in English Literature from the University of Manitoba, and has published books of poetry, non-fiction, and graphic novels. He is on the board of The Winnipeg Review and is a past-president of the Manitoba Writers’ Guild.
